Introduction to Athletic Activities
Sports Interest Group
Students from the School of Life Sciences spontaneously formed 10 sports interest groups based on their personal interests, covering sports such as football, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, squash, and running. They actively organized team training and participated in sports events in their spare time, demonstrating good qualities of positivity, unity, and courage to fight.

Jin-Guang Cup
The “Jin-Guang Cup” is an annual sports event hosted by the Culture and Sports Department of the Student Union (Sponsored by Abiosciences Inc.). The competition includes badminton and table tennis, adhering to the fine sporting tradition of teachers and students in the School of Life Sciences, with the purpose of strengthening physical exercise, enhancing the friendship between teachers and students, and enriching extracurricular life, which shows the good physical fitness and teamwork spirit of our college.
Since 2020, the annual “Jin-Guang Cup” has become a major sports event of School of Life Sciences, and is open to all students in Peking University. Every year, more than a dozen teams from the School of Life Sciences, the Health Science Center, the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, and other colleges compete against each other to win the cup. Some of the popular teams have gained high reputation among students and faculty members.

Lab Cup Sports League
The Lab Cup Sports League is an event organized by the Postgraduate Student Union of the School of Life Sciences. This annual event allows faculty and students from various laboratories within the Peking University School of Life Sciences to form teams and register on behalf of their laboratories. The aim of the Lab Cup Sports League is to foster communication among faculty, students, and colleagues from different labs, while also enriching the sporting life of our faculty and students. As of 2024, the Lab Cup Sports League has been held for twenty three years, making it a long-standing tradition of the School of Life Sciences. In addition to formal competitions like badminton and table tennis, the league also features fun activities such as seven-legged races and rope skipping. Adhering to the principle of "friendship first, competition second," the event brings joy to both faculty and students.

Literary & Sports Experience Camp
To further enrich the extracurricular lives of graduate and undergraduate students in the School of Life Sciences, the Postgraduate Student Union of the School of Life Sciences has launched a series of cultural and sports-related experience camp activities. Unlike more mainstream activities such as badminton, these experience camps focus on niche sports and activities, such as frisbee, archery, and street dance. These unique and enjoyable activities not only help everyone relax and unwind but also assist in discovering personal interests and potential.

Badminton and Table Tennis Welcome Matches
To welcome new students, invigorate their social interactions, and enrich their sporting lives, the Postgraduate Student Union of the School of Life Sciences will organize badminton and table tennis tournaments for newcomers at the start of each autumn semester. These tournaments are open to all new students. The aim is to foster exchanges between new and existing members of our community, enhancing the newcomers' sense of collective honor and belonging. During these events, outstanding performers among the new students may also be invited to join the School's badminton and table tennis teams, becoming the "new force" of the School of Life Sciences.

Team Building Tour
Throughout the year, the Student Affairs Office and various class associations organize students to visit scenic spots and historical sites for a variety of team building and sightseeing activities. While exploring the scenery, increasing knowledge, and relaxing the mind and body, they also promote communication between teachers, students, and teams.
